Just a quick one this time. Cyclists who do not regard the highway code as being relevent to them. There seem to be a lot about these days, especially in central London.
It seems that crossing on a pedestrian crossing when the man is green is no guarantee of safety these days, especially when there are reckless cyclists about. I have been nearly hit on a number of occasions in the last two months. But yesterday, I saw a classic.
Crossing Commercial Street in Spitalfields, myself and a group of people felt it was OK to go because the man was green and the lights were red. Easy, huh? But oh no, from out of nowhere, one of these two wheeled menaces flies up the street heading straight for us and - get this - rang his warning bell to make us all get out of the way! Twat!
I wasn't the only person grumbling, believe you me. Sometimes you want to just walk in front of them and risk injury to both parties just to make a point.
THE LIGHTS ARE RED, YOU PILLOCK, SO STOP.

Hello fellow sufferers!
This blog has been created to 'let off steam'. Pure and simple. No agenda, just sheer unadulterated 'get it off your chest' ranting material.
As I'm sure we are all aware, things aren't too rosy in England's green and pleasant at the moment and of course WE the ORDINARY PEOPLE who just get on with life and try to get by as best as possible are stuck in the middle. Around us are obstacles which seem to want to spoil our day/life/health - usually, these are nothing to do with us. I seem to be aware of this more as I get older (crabby-old-git-age imminent) and after a day of such 'obstacles' I'm usually in the mood to fire off a salvo of discontent. It's frustrating that after a while, the urge dissipates, only to flare up again the next time. This blog is my personal answer to this problem. It is not the answer to the problems that cause these posts.
What are my personal bugbears? The taxman taking money I haven't earnt yet. People who spit noisily as they walk past you. Cyclists who ignore the highway code and other life-forms in general. People who hassle you for cigarettes. And my big grumble at the moment? London £$!?/!&£% Transport. Here is a case in point:
Last monday, I touch in my Oyster Card to find I've been overcharged owing to a faulty barrier at King's Cross the day before. Then my train (First Capital Connect) is delayed. Whilst on the train, the destination is changed owing to the usual 'signal failures'. Cue a trip on the Underground. Delayed and slow moving tube trains owing to 'signal failure' (again). A journey that normally takes 30 mins took 1hr 10. If I hadn't left home early - which I do in case of cock-ups like this - I would have been late for work.
I wish this was just an isolated incident, but it happens a lot. Basically, too often for the prices we are paying for travel. We are expected to pay stupid amounts of money each week for a service which, quite frankly, is shite. It never used to be like this. Look at the weekend engineering works. Who's idea was that? I thought this sort of thing went on overnight when the Tube was shut. Not now. Getting around London at weekends has become a pain in the arse.
I have lost count of the times I have returned home from work seething at the sheer inefficiency of the London Transport network. It appears to be run by complete incompetents. Think about it - if you performed your job in a way that got results of the standard of TfL, you'd probably get the sack. Unless of course Bob Crowe was your union rep.
Now don't get me started on HIM....
Am I being unreasonable? I couldn't care less to be honest!
Anyway, I'm sure there is more to come, so feel free to comment and let rip yourself. Join the Ordinary People's Ranting Collective and get it off your chest.
